Republican primary results in Waupaca County

Waupaca County Sheriff Tim Wilz was re-elected in Tuesday’s Republican primary.

Wilz received 5,132 votes and Durrant garnered 3,594 votes, according to the unofficial tally of the Waupaca County clerk.

Wilz attracted the most votes on the cities of New London, Clintonville, Weyauwega and Manawa.

New London citizens voted 422-210 in favor of Wilz; Clintonville 302-157 for Wilz; Manawa 123-56 for Wilz; Marion 114-40 for Wilz; Weyauwega 106-90 for Wilz; the village of Fremont voted 127-41 for Wilz.

The city of Waupaca voted 538-393 in favor of Durrant; the village of Iola voted 136-72 for Durrant.

Wilz won in nearly all of the townships; winning 374-146 in Mukwa; 278-69 in Caledonia; 231-80 in Lebanon; 204-102 in Royalton.

Durant won the towns of Dayton 328-308; Farmington 485-296; Iola 144-105; Waupaca 178-139.
