Carol A. Durik, died of natural causes September 3, 2022 at her residence in Waupaca, WI.
She was born February 21, 1929, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Albert Palka and Edna Peterson and sister to Leona. Carol graduated from Chicago Teachers College and attended Northwestern University. In 1952 she married the love of her life, her everything, Andrew Durik and they celebrated 67 years of marriage. Carol loved to teach and taught kindergarten. After her children were older she went back to teaching and became a substitute teacher. She will be forever remembered as a kind and loving mother who was always there when we needed her.
In addition to her parents and sister, she was predeceased by her husband, Andrew. Surviving are her daughters, Nancy Lally; Gail Walters and her husband, Ron; Dawn Turner and her husband Frank; sons, Andrew Albert Durik and his wife Svetlana; Curtis Durik and wife Brenda; and Christopher Durik; grandchildren, Sara Walters; Jeffrey Walters and his wife Kristie; Traci Cole and her husband Andrew; Samantha Teixeira and her husband Christopher; Frank Turner; Aleksandra Durik; and Andrew Durik; and a great-grand daughter Camille.
A service of remembrance will be held on Friday September 16th from 11 am to 2pm at Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 S. Oak Park, Stickney, IL. Internment will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleums, 7201 Archer Road, Justice, IL.
