Larry Matson, age 72 of Waupaca, WI passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022 at Theda Care Regional Medical Center in Appleton, WI.
Larry was born on July 29, 1950; son of the late Walter and Margaret (Jacobson) Matson. Larry received a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, traveling the states for Amada Engineering. On March 18, 2022; he married Wanda Smith in Waupaca, WI. He was an avid pool player and loved watching his Wisconsin Sports, Badgers, Packers, Bucks and Brewers.
Larry is survived by his wife; Wanda Matson, daughter; Melanie (significant other Michael Sullivan) Cherny, step-children; Robbie, Leslie, Keith and Bridger, Larry was a father figure to Jennie, Sara and Meg, grandchildren; Alexus, Carlitos, Silas and Willow, great-grandchildren; Hayley, Hayzel, Xavier, Emilio and special bond with Isabelle, sisters; Audrey (Stanley) Johnson, Darlene Wittlinger, special friend; Rita Fearnow, also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. Larry is preceded in death by his parents, a bonus daughter; Rose and a brother-in-law; Vern Wittlinger.
Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, September 26, 2022 at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca. Reverend Dr. Charles Tews will officiate. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service at 12 Noon at Holly’s. Interment will follow in the Scandinavia Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Scandinavia, WI.
