Van hits school bus

13 Manawa students transported to hospital

Shortly before 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, a cargo van rear-ended a school bus near New London.

The Kobussesn bus was transporting Little Wolf High School sophomores on a field trip to the Performing Arts Center in Appleton, according to information from the Manawa School District.

The bus was stopped at a railroad crossing on County Trunk S, just south of State Highway 54, when the cargo van rear-ended it, according to New London police.

Passengers on the bus included 32 students, three chaperones and the bus driver.

The driver of the cargo van and 13 students were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

The remaining students were transferred to a relief bus and returned to Little Wolf High School for reunification with their parents. Reunification was completed just before 11 a.m.

The accident remains under investigation.
