On October 1, 2022, Dorothy Jean Holliday passed quietly in her sleep at the age of 96.
Jean was born to Henry and Nellie Christensen in New London, WI on July 20, 1926. In 1946 she married Guy Holliday with whom she raised two daughters and a son.
Jean loved fishing, golfing, and pitching for the church softball team. She was also a certified swimming instructor and spent may hot summer days teaching kids to swim at the Boulder City pool. When she wasn’t out participating in sports, she enjoyed watching the Cubs or the Packers on TV. In quieter moments she would crochet Afghans or work on jigsaw puzzles and was an avid crossword enthusiast.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Nellie, brother Jim, husband Guy, and two grandchildren: Bobby and Cindy. She is survived by her three children: Kris Holliday, Sukie (Joel) Page, and Mark (Terry) Holliday; five grandchildren: Britt, Tim, Lauren, Whitney, and Katie; and eight greatgrandchildren.
A private celebration of Jean’s life will be held at a later date when the family is able to gather. In the meantime, we welcome visitors to this site to share stories and memories about Jean.
