Ervin R. Wepner, age 96, of New London, WI passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Theda Care, in New London.
Ervin was born on June 25, 1926 in Manawa to the late Frank and Emma (Weber) Wepner.
He was united in marriage to Alice Miller on November 7, 1953 in Neenah, Wisconsin and together they had four beautiful children, Sally, Mary Alice, Leroy and Larry. Ervin worked as skinner at Hillshire and retired in 1991 after 30 years.
In Ervin’s free time, he loved going fishing, tending his gardens and going for long walks. He liked to walk where he could see the river and he would usually come home with some kind of treasure he found along the way. Ervin was known for his gardens and he grew so many carrots that he would cover them with leaves in the fall and dig them up all winter long!
Ervin is survived by his children, Sally Dittman, Leroy Wepner and Larry (Bev) Wepner and his grandchildren, Robert Wepner, Andrew Wepner, David Dittman, Dan Dittman, Jessica Wepner and Kyle VanHeuklon.
Ervin was preceded in death by his wife Alice and his daughter Mary Alice.
The funeral service for Ervin will be at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London. Visitation will be at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London on Monday evening from 4:00-7:00pm and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00am until time of service.
