Cramer Car Care in Weyauwega
By James Card
Hunter Cramer slips between the four service bays at Cramer Car Care at 701. N Mill St. He’s mostly a one-man operation although his brother helps out on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
“I like doing it all myself. I know the quality of work that leaves is good. It’s hard to put your name on somebody else’s work if it doesn’t meet your standard of quality,” said Cramer.
Cramer takes care of everything mechanical: batteries, tires, wiper blades, oil changes, brakes, steering, suspension and engine repair. He doesn’t do body work.
He works on all makes and models, both imports and domestics and he will help a person stuck with a non-vehicle problem such as fixing a snow blower or a go-cart.
“I’ll attempt it. I’ll pretty much work on anything if it’s got tires and a motor.”
He purchased the business in October and work has been steady. It was previously Wega Motors and Mitchell Automotive.
Cramer is a former mechanic at Royal Automotive and he’s done freelance mechanical work in his home driveway.
They are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturdays by appointment.
There is a bonus for the parents of small children: in the lobby is a large track for slot-car racing that is the size of two ping-pong tables.
Cramer is also creating a play room for children that has a convenient window for parents to keep an eye on their children. He also has stand-up an arcade game loaded with 64 games.
