Waupaca event features traditional craft demonstrations, live music

The Waupaca Historical Society will host the second annual Lost Arts at the Hutchinson House from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 24.

The event will feature arts, crafts and hobbies common in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Demonstrators will show how they are keeping these arts alive – from wood carving and spinning wool to basket-weaving, rug-hooking and blacksmithing.

Families can take part in activities like seed art and yard games, along with other interactive demonstrations.

Visitors can also enjoy local band Flip O’ the Coin as they play old-time music from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Hutchinson House porch.

Tours through the historic home will be offered throughout the day. The Waupaca Historical Society will also have a brat fry with food and beverages for sale.

The Lost Arts event is made possible through a grant from the Waupaca Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Hutchinson House is located in South Park on South Main Street in Waupaca.
