A ribbon cutting Wednesday, Aug. 2, celebrated the opening of Clintonville’s first dog park.

Bucholz Bark Park was a girl Scout Gold Award project of Cassidy Rose, who graduated this year from Clintonville High School.

Rose presented plans Clintonville Common Council for a fenced-in park for unleashed dogs, then established a nonprofit organization, Friends of the Clintonville Dog Park, to build and maintain the park.

Among those attending the ribbon cutting were Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez, Patti Shafto-Carlson, CEO at Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes, and Clintonville Police Chief Craig Freitag, who accepted a donation from Rose for the K-9 officer program.
