Fatal stabbing in Clintonville

Police investigate Labor Day homicide

Police officers responding to an ambulance call at Memorial Circle at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4, found a woman who was on the ground bleeding from what appeared to be a stab wound.

Officers and Clintonville Area Ambulance Service staff performed life-saving measures on the 39-year-old victim from Neenah.

Theda Star transported the victim to Theda Care-Neenah, where she was later pronounced deceased.

Officers quickly identified a suspect at the scene and took him into custody.

He is 19-year-old man from Neenah. Police took him to the Waupaca County Jail, where he was booked in for first-degree intentional homicide.

Clintonville police are not releasing names of the victim or suspect at this time.

“Please be respectful to the families affected by this tragic incident and keep in mind this is still an ongoing investigation.” Police Chief Craig Freitag said in a press release.
