
Bloedow, Polzin score two goals

Waupaca and Clintonville’s boys’ soccer teams picked up recent nonconference home wins over Medford and Peshtigo, respectively.
Waupaca handed Medford a 3-1 loss Sept. 9, while the Truckers defeated Peshtigo 4-2 Sept. 8.
Waupaca 3, Medford 1
Waupaca broke a 1-1 tie late in the second half with a pair of goals in less than a minute.
Both teams scored a goal in the first half. Liam Bloedow opened the scoring for the Comets in the 22-minute mark off of an assist from Adam Mace, while Medford’s Adyn Gripentrog tied the game, with the assist going to Alexander Gonzalez.
The score remained 1-1 until Bloedow scored off of Ryan Mace’s assist in the 74th minute. Ryan Mace scored 37 seconds later off of an assist from Nate Lemkuil.
Waupaca outshot the Raiders 6-3 and had a 2-0 advantage in the second half.
Clintonville 4, Peshtigo 2
The Truckers scored a pair of goals in each half.
Maxwell Polzin found the net for Clintonville in the 22-minute mark and Angel Luis Segovia Medina made it 2-0 eight minutes later.
The Bulldogs cut the Truckers’ lead in the half on Caiden Radtke’s goal with less than two minutes remaining in the first half.
Christian Santiago gave Clintonville a 3-1 lead five minutes into the second half before Peshtigo’s Brenden Conn converted a penalty kick in the 60-minute mark.
Polzin added his second goal in the 73-minute mark.
Waupaca and Clintonville have North Eastern Conference matches scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14. Waupaca will head to Wrightstown and the Truckers will host Marinette.
