Waupaca County sheriff’s report Sept. 17

  • Sept. 8 – Chain One Stop in Waupaca reported a fuel drive-off valued at $92. The vehicle was a blue GMC truck.
  • Sept. 8 – ThedaCare reported following up with a patient who said he was suicidal. He said he had guns in the house but was unsure “how he would do it.”
  • Sept. 8 – An Embarrass caller on High Street reported the death of an 88-year-old woman.
  • Sept. 8 – East Side Mobil in Waupaca reported a fuel drive-off valued at $40. The vehicle was a black four-door car with tape over the license plate.
  • Sept. 8 – A Waupaca man on Frost Valley Road reported trespassers on private property using a boat on a lake.
  • Sept. 8 – The Weyauwega post office requested a welfare check on an 89-year-old man who had not picked up his mail in a week.
  • Sept. 8 – An Ogdensburg woman on County Trunk K reported being defrauded out of $200 through Facebook and Paypal while trying to buy a puppy.
  • Sept. 8 – The Wisconsin Veterans Home reported two patients with dementia were fighting. No injuries.
  • Sept. 8 – An aircraft was circling a local airport and the caller requested to “have people ready.”
  • Sept. 9 – an anonymous caller reported two people fighting in a car and heading toward Manawa. A man swung the door open. A woman was crying and got out of the car once.
  • Sept. 9 – A Larson caller reported two men yelling at each other and one got punched.
  • Sept. 10 – A Manawa caller on Center Street reported there was a man in her living room and refusing to leave. She was in her bedroom with her dog.
  • Sept. 10 – A Weyauwega caller on Thompson Road reported her husband’s tools were taken the night before.
  • Sept. 10 – Kwik Trip on Fulton Street in Waupaca reported a fight outside the store.
  • Sept. 11 – A Clintonville caller on Jepson Road reported his wife was having mental health issues and would not eat or get up.
  • Sept. 11 – A New London caller n Ebert Road reported someone broke into his garage and took some things.
  • Sept. 11 – A Weyauwega man on County Trunk F reported a harassing phone call. The harassing caller believed he was calling Waupaca County Sheriff Tim Wilz. The reporting caller has the same last name as the sheriff.
  • Sept. 11 – An Iola caller on River Hill Road reported his neighbor’s dog ran into the road and bit his shoe while he was riding his bike.
  • Sept. 11 – A Weyauwega caller on State Highway 10 reported he received a suspicious call from Wells Fargo about taking out a loan and they asked him if he lost his wallet.
  • Sept. 11 – A Manawa caller on Swan Road reported two goose hunters shooting in the direction of his house.
  • Sept. 11 – Rawhide Youth Services reported a resident “choked out” a staff member.
  • Sept. 12 – A sheriff deputy reported squad car versus fox. There was minor damage to the plastic on the undercarriage. The fox was removed from the road.
  • Sept. 12 – An Ogdensburg caller reported his neighbor’s garbage can gets blown over and garbage ends up in his pasture.
  • Sept. 12 – An unknown caller reported a woman kicked some dogs trying to get into a camper. A man inside was yelling at the dogs. The caller heard the dogs yelp. It has been going on for two days.
  • Sept. 12 – A Waupaca caller on Melody Lane reported his Airpods were stolen.
  • Sept. 12 – A New London caller on Larry Road reported his 31-year-old son was becoming physical and disorderly.
  • Sept. 12 – A Waupaca caller on Union Street reported her 27-year-old son was drunk and threatening to kill himself.
  • Sept. 12 – A 911 caller reported a tree on fire along County Trunk X. It was contacting energized lines.
  • Sept. 12 – An Iola caller on State Highway 49 reported a suspicious vehicle parked at the end of her driveway for the last hour.
  • Sept. 13 – A Waupaca caller on Golke Road reported goose hunters trespassing on her property.
  • Sept. 13 – A Clintonville caller on Kratzke Road reported a person put a basketball-sized stone in his field that caused damaged to his combine. He also reported a For Sale sign was ripped down and thrown into the road.
  • Sept. 13 – A Waupaca caller on Columbia Lake Drive reported a house with new renters had dog that was barking. The owner yelled at it, hit the dog a few times, picked up something and hit the dog some more.
  • Sept. 13 – A caller reported a bipolar man got angry and took off down the road with a portable ice shack and ice auger.
  • Sept. 13 – A Waupaca caller on State Street reported that her mother passed away a few days earlier. Her mother had a friend who sometimes stayed at the house and was still there.
  • Sept. 13 – A caller reported his girlfriend was talking like she was going to hurt herself. He went to her address, knocked and looked through the window. She wasn’t moving.
  • Sept. 13 – Statewide Recovery Specialists reported repossessing a 2012 Ford Edge.
  • Sept. 14 – An employer reported one of his employees was possibly drunk and driving a work van.
  • Sept. 14 – A Waupaca caller on Gloria Lane reported her husband was destroying things in the house.
  • Sept. 14 – An Iola woman on Grove Street reported an intoxicated father was “putting his hands on his family.”
  • Sept. 14 – Fremont Travel Plaza reported a suspicious white van and the male driver was going around harassing people and trying to start fights.
  • Sept. 15 – A Clintonville caller on Kratzke Road reported his neighbor cut down some trees and “shoved” them onto his side of the fence.
  • Sept. 15 – A Waupaca caller on Cleghorn Road reported her ex-boyfriend was there and acting crazy.
  • Sept. 16 – A Manawa caller on Preuss Road reported receiving a call from an unknown number. The person asked her if she was “farming people.” She called the number back but there was no answer.
  • Sept. 16 – A Manawa man on Bridge Street reported an intoxicated and disorderly woman who fell and knocked her head.
  • Sept. 16 – A Manawa caller reported an intoxicated man on school premises who was currently drinking and wearing an Iola Thunderbirds T-shirt.
  • Sept. 16 – ThedaCare Waupaca reported an unruly and uncooperative patient.
  • Sept. 16 – A male caller reported hearing a crash the night before and thought it was thunder. The next morning he noticed over at his neighbor’s house a pickup truck smashed into a pine tree. There was a dead man outside the vehicle.
  • Sept. 17 – An unknown caller reported a controlled burn on a demolished barn was now getting out of control.

There was a slight increase in deer-auto collisions during this period. Ten controlled burns were called in. A horse was reported running loose near State Higwhay 54 near Spiegelberg Implement. An insurance agent reported being bitten by a dog. An Almond man reported three loose cows in the roadway. A person reported a black cow running loose in a New London driveway. A black cow was reported loose near the Manawa Masonic Lodge. A hawk with an injured wing was reported along the road.
