Waupaca’s volleyball team rebounded from its first North Eastern Conference loss with a convincing win in the Comets’ next time on the court.

The Comets hosted Marinette Sept. 26 and handed the Marines a three-game sweep.

Waupaca opened the match with 25-4 and 25-7 wins and closed it out with a 25-12 win in the third set.

The Comets competed at an invitational Sept. 30 at Oshkosh North High School; returned to conference play Oct. 3 by hosting Luxemburg-Casco; and will wrap up the regular season Thursday, Oct. 12, with a home match against Wrightstown.

The Comets received honorable mention in the latest Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association Division 2 poll.

Three other North Eastern teams are ranked in the top 10 in Division 2: Fox Valley Lutheran (No. 2), Luxemburg-Casco (No. 4) and Oconto Falls (No. 10).
