Bank officials cite inclement weather
First State Bank announced that its Family Fun Day on Saturday, Oct. 14, will not be held due to significant wind, rain, and chilly temperatures expected later this week.
The event was slated as the finale to a week-long customer and community celebration of the bank’s new office at 220 W. Waupaca St., New London. Instead, the bank is already making plans for a similar, family-friendly celebration in June 2024.
“After months of planning this incredible, outdoor event, we are disappointed to have to postpone Family Fun Day until early next summer,” said First State Bank marketing director Brenda Hansen. “It definitely is the right call, however, for the comfort and safety of our customers, community, event partners, and staff.”
The bank’s Movie Day on Thursday, Oct. 12, and Bulldogs Homecoming Celebration on Friday, Oct. 13, are going on as planned.
Free pairs of movie tickets for the Grand Cinema Theatre will be given away on Thursday (while supplies last) along with free popcorn and theater candy in the bank lobby.
On Friday, the bank celebrates homecoming weekend with tailgating snacks and a chance to win a New London Bulldogs gift basket.
All who stop in by 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, can enter their name into a drawing for hourly prizes. Individuals who register will also have a chance to win $1,000 in a grand prize drawing at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16. Complete sweepstake rules and details are available at the New London office.
