Waupaca County sheriff’s report Nov. 12

Nov. 6 – An Ogdensburg man on County Trunk E reported getting harassing phone calls from a woman. He blocked her so she got a different phone to keep calling him.

Nov. 6 – A New London man on Division Street requested an ambulance for a 38-year-old man slurring his words.

Nov. 6 – A Marion woman on Sherman Street reported hearing noises outside. It appeared someone broke into their garage.

Nov. 7 – The New London Bus Garage reported a burgundy-colored car did not stop for the school bus when its lights were flashing while stopped. They reported the same violation later in the week with a maroon vehicle.

Nov. 7 – A 911 caller requested an ambulance for someone who was painting a window and was “hanging off the boom.” The caller was extremely upset.

Nov. 7 – A Weyauwega woman on White Lake Road reported her dogs were poisoned and she believed she knew who did it.

Nov. 7 – An unknown caller requested an ambulance for a man who attempted to hang himself.

Nov. 7 – A female caller reported the death of a man who laid down for an afternoon nap and never woke up.

Nov. 7 – Portage County Sheriff Office requested help with locating a man in a red hatchback that was traveling into Waupaca County. The man caused a disturbance in a bar and was highly intoxicated.

Nov. 7 – A New London call on State Road requested an ambulance for a 44-year-old man who possibly had infected wounds from colostomy bag.

Nov. 8 – A Manawa man on Progress Road reported the theft of a plasma cutter and torch set.

Nov. 8 – The Wisconsin Veterans Home in King reported a resident-to-resident altercation.

Nov. 8 – An Embarrass caller on Main Street reported his CO2 detector going off. He had a headache and noticed a metallic smell.

Nov. 8 – A Waupaca caller on Skyview Lane requested extra patrol because his daughter was getting threatened by “drug dealers in the valley.”

Nov. 8 – An Iola woman on Wasrud Road reported hearing suspicious gunshots.

Nov. 9 – A New London man on Collier Road stopped at the sheriff’s office. He said a neighbor had been giving him trouble for years and he finally wants something done.

Nov. 9 – Chain One Stop in Waupaca reported they kicked a man out of the store and wanted to file a trespassing complaint.

Nov. 9 – A New London woman on County Trunk D reported someone cut her internet cable the previous night.

Nov. 9 – A male caller reported a power line was down and it ignited a brushfire that was spreading.

Nov. 9 – A Waupaca man on Evergreen Drive reported that people at a bar created memes about him. It bothered him so much he considered suicide in the past.

Nov. 9 – An Iola man on Wolf River Road reported he gave his ex-girlfriend his keys and now he cannot get a hold of her to get his keys back.

Nov. 10 – A Clintonville caller on Country Trunk D reported the death of an 89-year-old man. No CPR. He was “stiff and cold to the touch.”

Nov. 10 – An Appleton caller reported a man was burning a stump. The caller said the man was trying to disrupt his hunting and it “happens every time they come up here.”

Nov. 10 – A Fremont woman on Wolf River Drive reported a coworker was acting strange and did not show up for work on Thursday. The caller mentioned the coworker was talking about pipe bombs and the CIA.

Nov. 10 – A Marion caller on Town Hall Road reported a drone was flying around his property and near his cow barn. This was a problem in the past.

Nov. 10 – a Manawa woman on County Trunk B reported getting threatening messages from a man with one message being, “Karma.”

Nov. 11 – A 911 caller reported her female friend caller her and said her boyfriend was hitting her and that he broke into her house.

Nov. 11 – A 911 caller stated that there was someone there trying to hurt herself and was biting the caller. There was screaming in the background.

Nov. 11 – A 911 caller reported someone was walking around outside and the caller’s son chased the person near King Road.

Nov. 11 – A New London caller on Collier Road reported he went to the Log Cabin bar and his shotgun was stolen out of his truck.

Nov. 11 – A Marion caller on Main Street reported being attacked by a man. He punched her, she kicked him and he pulled her hair.

Nov. 11 – A New London woman on Collier Road reported a man was off his medication and was taking everything out of the house.

Nov. 12 – A Marion caller on Garfield Avenue reported she owned an apartment building. There were people living in a back apartment that was never fixed up and never rented. She wanted to file a trespassing complaint.

Nov. 12 – An anonymous caller reported two people were walking around with flashlights and everytime a car goes by they shut them off.

The whitetail deer rut has deer on the move throughout all hours of the day. There was an even larger increase in deer-auto collisions during this period, including one sheriff’s patrol car. The deputy reported the “deer was the predominant aggressor.” One controlled burn was called in. A driver hit a horse with a Ford F150 pickup truck. A brown horse was reported running loose near Crystal Lake Road. A 911 caller reported running over a dog. The dog died. ThedaCare Waupaca reported one dog bite. A caller reported an opossum was trapped inside an engine and he wasn’t sure if he could remove the marsupial.
