Triangle Park to get update

A group of concerned citizens and organizations are uniting to update and rededicate the sign at Triangle Park.

The project is in conjunction with Manawa’s sesquicentennial celebration in August 2024.

The Manawa Federated Women’s Club erected the current sign in 1986. The hope is to refurbish and update the sign giving all churches, clubs and civic organizations in the Manawa School District an opportunity to be represented and recognized.

FineLee Finished Carpentry of Manawa will refurbish the sign and the Little Wolf High School Art Department is painting the logos to be mounted on the sign.

A double-sided digital sign made by Creative Sign Co. of De Pere will be added to the park to announce meeting dates and special events for all of the churches, clubs and organizations represented on the sign.

It will also provide an opportunity for any other individuals, organizations or companies to promote their special event.

The Melvin Handrich Historical Marker will be relocated to Manawa Area Veterans Freedom Park.

The Triangle Park Renovation Committee will unveil the community and digital sign during the sesquicentennial Celebration, to be held the first weekend of August.

“We feel that the upcoming 150th anniversary is an excellent time to embrace the celebration’s theme of Hometown Proud,” committee member Mary Mann said. “The community sign will continue to recognize distinguished members of our community and it will also showcase the many active organizations. The digital sign will help to create and promote awareness for the upcoming events that are available for the community and the public to attend and enjoy.”

The project will cost $75,000.

Churches, civic organizations and clubs within the Manawa School District can have their logo represented on the community sign for a one-time fee of $250. This will also entitle them to cost-free advertising of their events on the digital sign.

For a fee, the digital sign will also announce special events and announcements for clubs, organizations and businesses not represented on the community sign.

Donations to the project from individuals, organizations or businesses can be directed to [email protected] or by contacting Mann at 920-540-7589.

The Triangle Park Renovation Committee is also actively seeking nominations of present or past residents of Manawa that have received noteworthy state and/or national recognition, titles and awards to be recognized on the community sign.

Checks from individuals, organizations or businesses can be sent to Manawa Revitalization Committee (Triangle Park), P.O. Box 130, Manawa, WI 54949.
