Local Eagle Scout honored

State officials recognize Scherschel

Jonathan Scherschel was recognized for his achievements at a Eagle Scout Court of Honor at Christus Lutheran Church in Clintonville on Sunday, Dec. 3.

Eagle Scout is the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America, achieved by earning the required merit badges and completing a community service project
Scherschel demonstrated his leadership skills as assistant patrol leader and senior patrol leader.

He logged 30 hours camping along with his troop. He also spent four days and three nights canoeing the Boundary Waters Wilderness in Minnesota.

In addition to earning 23 merit badges, Scherschel completed his community service project by planning and building a fire pit for St. Rose Catholic Church in Clintonville, which will be used during the Easter services and by the church youth group.

He began as a member of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 28 on April 21, 2015.

State Rep. Kevin Petersen presented Scherschel with a state citation that he and Sen. Joan Ballweg signed to congratulate him on his achievements.
