The Clintonville School District hosted its second “Coffee With the Community” listening session on Dec. 7.

Attended by a small group of residents, parents and educators, the session served as an open forum to discuss the district’s recent academic advancements and curriculum enhancements.

The session started out with a musical selection by the Clintonville High School Jazz Band, under the direction of Josh Heyer.

Brittany Schmidt, the district’s curriculum coordinator, led an information session on the implementation of three comprehensive curriculums, ARC for literacy, Illustrative Math for grades 6-12, and Bridges Math for grades K-5.

Schmidt explained the rationale behind the adoption of these curriculums and provided insights into their potential impact on student learning.

“The introduction of ARC for reading and both math programs district-wide marks a significant milestone in our commitment to providing a rigorous, educational experience for our students,” said Schmidt. “These curriculums have been carefully selected to align with Wisconsin State Standards and support student learning.”

Attendees had the opportunity to engage in dialogue, gain a deeper understanding of the pedagogical strategies incorporated into these curriculums and their alignment with state standards.

The interactive session encouraged collaboration and provided a platform for community members to ask questions, share feedback and voice their perspectives on the new initiatives.

“We highly value community input and recognize the importance of collaboration between educators, parents, and the community at large,” Clintonville High School Principal Kelly Zeinert said “The ‘Coffee With the Community’ sessions serve as a testament to our commitment to transparency and fostering a supportive environment where everyone has a voice in shaping our students’ education.”
