Arvilla Christensen, of Suring, WI, age 93, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023,
under the attentive care of her family and Unity Hospice.
Arvilla was well known for her hospitality, always offering fresh homemade pies and vegetables from the garden. She was instrumental in establishing a family business and keeping it going for nearly 50 years. Many will smile at remembering her ability to get things accomplished. On April 29, 1967, she was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Her love of God and neighbor and the promise of a restored paradise Earth motivated her to share this hope with many in the community.
Arvilla will be missed by her sons, Howard (Karen) Christensen, and Jeffrey (Nancy) Christensen; daughter, Toni (Kurt) Zastrow; granddaughter, Heidi Brickner; grandsons, Michael (Jin Hee) Christensen and Jonathan Christensen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell; father, Earl Fletcher; mother, Lillian Fletcher; and sister, Jeanette Gross.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (506 Chestnut Avenue, Oconto Falls, WI) from 1:00 PM until the memorial service at 2:00 PM with Kurt Zastrow officiating. Arvilla will be interred in the Breed Union Cemetery. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring is assisting the family with arrangements.
