Wilz, Robert L.

Robert L. Wilz, age 72, of Prescott, AZ, went to be with his Heavenly Father on December 24, 2023,

after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on June 3, 1951 in Battlecreek, MI. He was the son of the late Robert and Dorothy (Erickson) Wilz. Bob served two tours in Vietnam with the United States Army. During his tours, he received numerous medals and also received the Air Medal and the Bronze Star Medal. He was very proud of his military service and was honored to have served his country. Upon returning from Vietnam, Bob’s favorite job was being an over the road truck driver, being able to see all the different beautiful states, which drew him to Prescott, AZ, for his retirement years. It was there where Bob seemed to find the most happiness. Bob enjoyed spending time outdoors with his precious little dogs, Hunter and Hannah. He also did not miss the chance to brag about how nice the weather was in Arizona compared to Wisconsin. He sure loved his neighborhood, especially his special neighbors next-door (Tommie and Jonell), who took such great care of him and treated him like family.

Bob is survived by his children, Christy (David) Gill, Austin, TX, and Devon, Appleton, WI; two granddaughters, Jadyn and Abigail; brothers, Steve (Connie) Wilz, Nap Wilz, Terry (Jodi) Wilz, and Shane Tews; sister, Fawn (Dan) Tauber; two sister-in-laws, Mary Wagner and Connie Wilz, and many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Adam, Mark, Jeff, and Joel and nephews Eric Wilz and Jon Procknow.

At this time no memorial service will be held, a private family prayer and reflection may be held at a later date.
