James C. Doyle passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the age of 87.
Jim was born February 29, 1936 to Clarence and Anna (Bauer) Doyle. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Mary Ann Doyle. He is survived by Rose Horvath Doyle, his wife of 56 years; his girls, Carrie Doyle (Doug Lundberg), Chrissy Doyle (Greg Nock), Brenda (Craig) McAndrews, and Jenny Doyle; grandchildren Jacob, Emma, and Adam McAndrews, and Ivan and Stella Goldsmith; and siblings Marjorie (the late Charles) Zarter, Jack (Jo Ann) Doyle, Kathy (Stan) Eaton, and Tom (Pat) Doyle.
Jim graduated from Waupaca High School and attended Madison Business College before beginning his career with Wisconsin Bell. He was then drafted by the U.S. Army and served two years in Hawaii. After his discharge, he returned to the telephone company and retired in 1994 after 36 years of service. From 1995 to 2003, he worked his ideal retirement job as bus driver for the Waupaca School District.
Jim enjoyed attending and listening to Waupaca High School football and basketball games, going for coffee at the truck stop, and frogging around outside. He had a sweet disposition and was known for his incredibly dry sense of humor and for being there when things got tough. He will be oh-so missed.
The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca at 11 AM on Monday, January 8th, 2024, with Father Xavier Santiago, officiating. Interment will be at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery in Waupaca. Visitation will be held on Monday, from 10 AM until the time of the service at the church. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
