Waupaca County sheriff’s report Jan. 7

Dec. 29 – A New London caller on Depot Road reported finding a bullet hold through his window frame and broke the window.

Dec. 29 – An unknown caller reported a 57-year old man who was snoring and unable to wake up.

Dec. 29 – A female caller reported getting scammed out of $3,000 by sending money via Coinstar.

Dec. 29 – A Clintonville caller on State Highway 156 reported an elderly woman was at her house who did not know how she got there.

Dec. 29 – Manawa Heating and Cooling reported a person sent them $3,000 via Quickbook accounting software. It was never received.

Dec. 29 – An unknown caller reported a man fell off a ladder, had a compound fracture and was in a hard-to-get-to location.

Dec. 29 – A Marinette woman reported her mother was staying at her sister’s house and making suicidal comments for the last few days. The mother said, “She’ll go and do it,” and left in a black Monte Carlo.

Dec. 30 – A Waupaca woman on Shambeau Court reported a nearby residence was playing loud music.

Dec. 30 – A Pine River woman on Archer Court reported she was at the dog park and her dog and another person’s dog were not getting along. When the caller suggested that she needed help keeping the dogs apart, the other person threatened to kill her.

Dec. 30 – The Wisconsin Veterans Home in King reported a patient was in the lobby threatening the staff with a hammer.

Dec. 31 – Taco Bell in Waupaca reported a silver car hit their dumpsters.

Dec. 31 – A Waupaca man on Mill Street reported his girlfriend stole his keys. He had been drinking and she took the keys so he could not drive.

Dec. 31 – A Weyauwega man on Pine Street requested a welfare check on his daughter. Her live-in boyfriend has a history of drug and alcohol problems and verbal and physical abuse. He last spoke to her on Christmas.

Dec. 31 – A Waupaca man on Marion Lane reported his neighbor’s dog killed his chickens and ducks.

Dec. 31 – An unknown caller reported his [juvenile person] possibly stole some alcohol earlier in the day.

Dec. 31 – A Waupaca man on Sue Lane reported the sound of gunfire coming across Spencer Lake.

Jan. 1 – An Iola woman on Netzler Road reported her husband said he was going to kill himself.

Jan. 1 – A Clintonville man on County Trunk C reported someone dumped a dresser and bed frame in the ditch and lit it on fire.

Jan. 1 – A Fremont man on Waupaca Street reported his wife assaulted him and hit him over the head.

Jan. 1 – A Marion woman on First Street reported a man possibly overdosed and was turning blue. He has used methamphetamine in the past.

Jan. 1 – ThedaCare Waupaca requested assistance with a patient during intubation

Jan. 1 – An Oshkosh woman requested a welfare check on her children that were with her ex-boyfriend who had been acting strange lately.

Jan. 2 – A Waupaca woman on Park Avenue reported her husband that she separated from was trying to get into her apartment and has a history of violence.

Jan. 2 – A Marion woman on Magolski Road reported someone broke into her home and stole a safe holding 12 guns, a combination of handguns and long guns. The thieves unscrewed the latch of the door. There was no other damage.

Jan. 2 – A Waupaca woman on Wilson Drive reported she received four calls from an unknown number. On the fourth call, a man called her names and told her not to call him anymore. The man asked for her by name.

Jan. 2 – A New London man on Huntley Road reported the death of his brother.

Jan. 2 – Aspirus in Stevens Point requested a welfare check on a woman who did not show up for an appointment and had expressed suicidal thoughts in the past.

Jan. 2 – A Big Falls man on Harrison Street reported unauthorized charges on his credit card account.

Jan 2- A Waupaca man on Nichols Creek Road reported his girlfriend was intoxicated and trying to leave in a vehicle.

Jan. 4 – A 911 caller reported a semi fire. The caller was pulled over and sleeping and woke up with his truck on fire.

Jan. 5 – A New London man on Madden Road reported he was “sick of the dogs from the neighbors” coming onto his property. He said one of the dogs went after one of his dogs.

Jan. 5 – A Waupaca man on Miracle Mountain Way reported he was doing some housework at an address and the homeowner did not like the work. The caller returned to remove the work. The homeowner fired a gun multiple times and told the caller to get off his property.

Jan. 5 – An unknown caller reported a possible fire at Alter Metal Recycling in Waupaca.

Jan. 5 – A Bear Creek man on Symco Road reported he was punched in the face by a man that was still on the scene.

Jan. 5 – A Marion woman on Miller Road reported a suspicious white GMC truck that suddenly stopped and turned off its lights.

Jan. 6 – A Fremont man on Puuri Road reported he had not heard from his family since 4 p.m. the day before. His daughter’s husband has threatened to kill her in the past.

Jan. 6 – A Waupaca man on Kristin Lane requested an ambulance for a 75-year-old woman who fell and “has been down 24 hours.” She was lethargic.

Jan. 6 – The Pine in Embarrass reported one resident hit another in the arm.

Jan. 7 – Wally World Tavern in Waupaca reported an intoxicated woman drove into their shop building.

Jan. 7 – The Waupaca County Highway Department reported a man trying to get up a hill in a wheelchair on State Highway 22 and was almost struck by a snowplow.

Jan. 7 – A Waupaca man on Kelleen Drive reported his mailbox was knocked over and judging from the tracks it looked like an ATV.

Jan. 7 – The Ramada Inn in Waupaca reported a disorderly man in the lobby.

Jan. 7 – Simplicity Salon and Spa in Waupaca reported a damaged mailbox.

Jan. 7 – Rawhide Youth Services reported a juvenile resident started a fight with a staff member.

Jan. 7 – Portage County Sheriff Office requested assistance with a vehicle rollover and an intoxicated wallking was walking eastbound on Town Road NN.

Jan. 7 – Rawhide Youth Services reported a resident started a fight with another resident.

Jan. 7 – A 911 caller reported a dryer caught fire.

Jan. 7 – A New London woman on Pine Street reported hearing three gunshots and a vehicle horn.

There was an abnormally high number of motor vehicle crashes and reports of reckless and inattentive drivers during this period. There were an average number of deer-auto collisions. Fifteen controlled burns were called in. An anonymous caller reported four horses that were not being fed. ThedaCare in Waupaca reported a woman was bitten by her own dog. ThedaCare New London reported a New London man was bitten while watching a friend’s dog. Aspirus in Iola reported a woman was bitten by her own cat and she decided to “put the cat down later this afternoon.”
