Viergutz receives basketball award

Clintonville grad plays at Concordia

Erin Viergutz’s final season of college basketball is turning into one she will never forget.

The Clintonville High School graduate is a senior at Concordia University Wisconsin in Mequon and was recently named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference’s student-athlete of the week for women’s basketball.

Viergutz received the award after scoring a career-high 20 points and grabbing 17 rebounds for her first career double-double Dec. 15 in a 59-49 loss to Wheaton.

The daughter of David and Connie Viergutz of Clintonville, Viergutz started 21 games for the Falcons last season as a junior and appeared in 15 games as a sophomore.

She lettered in basketball three years at Clintonville High School, where she averaged 18.6 points and 11.7 rebounds per game.

She also suited up for the Division 3 North team in 2020 at the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association’s all-star games.
