Dougherty, Patricia A.

Patricia A. Dougherty, age 74 of Clintonville, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Appleton.

Pat graduated from Kaukauna High School. Then she attended Outagamie County Teachers College and completed her Bachelor’s Degree at UW-Oshkosh. Pat taught 2nd and 3rd grade at St. Rose School, Clintonville. She furthered her education with a Master’s Degree in Administration from Boston College. Pat then became a principal at St. Anne’s School in Somerset. That year she was honored and awarded Principal of the Year for Non-Public Schools. In the following years she was also a principal at various parochial settings throughout Wisconsin. She had a great love for children and education. Pat was always very proud of her former students and their accomplishments. She furthered her passionate journey in education through working with WRISSA. This is a team evaluating the accreditation process of private and parochial schools.

Pat was your typical redhead with “Irish Shenanigans”. She liked card games, dominoes, fishing, cooking, (not necessarily cleaning up), country rides to count wildlife, swimming, and philosophizing. She was a kind, funny character and a bit irreverent. She leaves behind Wild Thing and Mia who are her cats. She will be greatly missed by a special group of friends.

Pat is survived by her:
Sister: Kathy (Jarl) Nilsson, Mountain View, CA
Nephews: Erik Nilsson, Stockholm, Sweden & Tom Nilsson, San Jose, CA
Aunt: Mary Foegen, Appleton, WI
Many other relatives and friends

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, aunts, uncles and a cousin Ken.

Memorial mass will be held 11 AM on Tuesday February 20, 2024 at St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville, with Fr. Simon Muriithi Minyati officiating. Inurnment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna, at a later date.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday at the church, from 9 AM until the time of service.
