Martin John Wilson (Marty), age 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 8, 2024 in Virginia Beach, VA.
He was born on October 25, 1941 in Redding, California to the late Simon and Valorus (Kleinbrook) Wilson. Marty married Mary Frances Snyder in 1975 and they were blessed with 37 years together until Mary’s passing in 2012.
Marty graduated from New London High School in 1959. He attended the University of Wisconsin and graduated with a degree in industrial management. He worked as a manufacturing engineer for Controls Corporation of America in Virginia Beach.
Marty was an avid golfer and supporter of University of Wisconsin collegiate sports. He was an active member of the New London Historical Society. Marty was passionate about the history of the Mukwa/Northport Area, spending time researching and doing presentations on the subject. He enjoyed history and was very proud of his Irish heritage.
He is survived by his daughter, Allison Wilson of Virginia Beach and son, Ryan Wilson (Danielle) of Appleton. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Lux and Iris Wilson, along with his siblings, Mary Miller of Scandinavia, and Lamar (Jane) Wilson of Waupaca, and many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St Patricks Catholic Church, Lebanon with Fr. John Kleinschmidt officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
