Lein, Frances S.

Frances S. Lein, age 86, of the Town of Belmont, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024.

She was born in Chicago, IL on August 3, 1937 to Bruno and Frances (Kwasigroch) Myszkowski. Frances was working at Western Electric while she was living in Cicero, IL. Her friend and co-worker Margie introduced her to her brother Edward at her wedding. They started dating and were married on April 30, 1960.

A couple of years after they were married, they moved to Wisconsin to a farm that Edward bought in 1959 while he was in the army. They raised four children on their dairy farm. Several nephews, nieces and other relatives would spend time in the summer at the farm. Frances always made her family a priority. Once her children were all in school, she began working for USDA as a fruit/vegetable inspector, from 1978 until her retirement.

She loved watching horse races ever since she lived in Illinois, as her brother used to have a race horse. Frances loved to listen to polkas, enjoyed trips to the casino as well as scratch-off tickets. Her family and friends meant the world to her and she was always willing to go out of the way to help. She loved telling stories, which always ended in, “true story!”

Frances was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Heffron until its closing, where she was active in helping with funeral luncheons and church picnics. She was a former member of the Wild Rose Lioness Club as well as the Almond American Legion.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Edward M. Lein; sons: Edward B. Lein, Frederick Lein and Theodore (Barb Kasprowicz) Lein; and daughter, Frances Lein. She had two beautiful granddaughters, Candace and Nora, whom she greatly adored and enjoyed spoiling (she always made sure they had ice cream or some kind of dessert before they ate their meal). Frances is also survived by a sister, Norene Myszkowski; brother, Hubert “Buzz” (Judi) Myszowski; and several nieces and nephews.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Bernie and Norbert; and a few nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Maple Crest Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of the service. Burial will take place at a later date at Hope Cemetery in Heffron.
