Clifford C. Leary, age 93, passed away at Stevens Point Health Services, in Whiting, Wisconsin on Tuesday February 20, 2024.
Mr. Leary was born December 15, 1930 at Galloway, WI the son of Clarence and Sophie (Tryba) Leary. He is survived by his siblings Doris (Glenn) Brasch, New London, WI; Janice (Maynard) Schuelke, New London, WI; Shirley (Martin) Mercen, Campbellsport, WI; Donald (Audrey) Leary, Wisconsin Rapids, WI; Bud (Patricia) Leary, Almond, WI; and Betty (James) Burns, Almond, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Sophie Leary of Almond, WI; brother Lewis Leary of West Allis, WI; brother Roger (Patricia) Leary of Green Bay, WI; stepson Patrick Martin of Little Elm, TX, and other in-laws.
He married Irmina Krebsbach in Fond du Lac, WI in 1952. She passed away at Stevens Point, WI on November 4, 1991. He is survived by the children of that marriage, June Leary, Los Angeles, CA; Nancy (Timothy) Haggerty, Milwaukee, WI; Donna Leary (David); Michael Leary (Paul Griffitts), Portland, OR; and Timothy (Kristin) Leary. He is further survived by grandchildren, Sophie Haggerty (Fae Fulconis), London, UK and Lawrence George Haggerty, Kenosha, WI.
He married Rita A. (Wanta) Martin at Stevens Point, WI on Nov. 27, 1993. He is survived by his wife Rita and step-children, Peter (Kristen) Martin, Eden Prairie, MN, and Paul (Kathy) Martin, Palm Bay, FL. He is further survived by step-grandchildren Ryan (Chelsea) Martin, Plover, WI, and Brynn Martin, Eden Prairie, MN.
Mr. Leary was employed by the Soo Line Railroad for nearly thirty-eight years and retired as Vice President of Operations at Minneapolis, MN in 1986. Following retirement he moved to Stevens Point. In recent years he delved into writing and published several books.
There will be no services at this time. A private service for family and friends will be held at a later date.
