Darling, Cindy Lee

Cindy Lee Darling (nee Gustke) age 64 of Waupaca, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday morning, Feb. 24, 2024

at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah.

She was born April 5, 1959 in Wild Rose, a daughter of James and Emily (Dahnke) Gustke. She was raised in the Pine River area, and was a Graduate of the Berlin High School. She married Steven R. Darling September 23, 1978 in Auroraville, rural Berlin. Steven, her husband of almost 46 years survives. She was employed at Delicious Popcorn in Waupaca as a bagger for 26 years.

Cindy enjoyed planning and hosting family gatherings. During the summer you could find Cindy camping with her family and friends. Her favorite part of camping was taking golf cart honeymoon rides with Steve. She loved being with her family and friends as much as she could.

She is survived by her husband, Steven Darling; daughter, Jackie (Matt) Handrich; son, James (Erin) Darling; grandchildren, Austin, Chase, and Hudson Handrich, Garret and Greta Darling; step-grandchildren, Dylan Darling and Tristan Moldenhauer; her siblings, Calvin (Elena) Gustke, Donald (Phyllis) Gustke, Dawn (Steve) Tunks, Barb (Bob) Olsen, Julia (Kevin) Boeck, Gina (Dan Charbarneau) McClelland; her sister-in-law, Sue Gustke; many other relatives and friends.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, James and Emily Gustke, her brother, Bernie Gustke, and step-daughter, Angie Darling.

Cindy continued giving by being an organ, eye, and tissue donor.

Cindy’s family would like to Thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at ThedaCare in Neenah who helped guide them through this difficult time.

A Celebration of Cindy’s Life will be held in the Banquet Room at Hidden Waters Golf Course, located at E4480 State Road 22/54 East of Waupaca, WI 54981 from 11:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M., Saturday, March 23, 2024. (Please Note the Date.) There will be a brief Service at 12:00 Noon, with Pastor Ben Kempfert officiating.

Memorial Donations will be appreciated in Cindy’s Memory in place of flowers.
