Waupaca County sheriff’s report March 3

  • Feb. 26 – A Manawa caller on East View Drive reported her neighbors were cutting down her trees. It’s an ongoing issue and she said at one time they poisoned the trees.
  • Feb. 27 – An Iola woman on McKinley Street reported she was arguing with her boyfriend and he smashed the windshield of her car while she was driving.
  • Feb. 27 – A male caller reported someone broke into his garage. The door was kicked in and the electrical panel was broken.
  • Feb. 27 – A Waupaca man on Churchill Street reported his neighbors were upset with him and they approach his car while screaming at him.
  • Feb. 27 – A Waupaca man on Churchill Street requested a welfare check on a man who called him and said he “wanted to end it.” The man sounded intoxicated.
  • Feb. 27 – Canadian National Railroad reported a person trespassing on their property. A silver SUV was parked near a crossing and a train was coming.
  • Feb. 27 – An anonymous caller reported a case of illegal burning.
  • Feb. 27 – Rawhide Youth Services reported a juvenile was trying to break out of a house by kicking out a window.
  • Feb. 28 – A Waupaca man on Morgan Drive reported he brought his son to the emergency road because he cut his arm on purpose with a razor and also threatened him.
  • Feb. 28 – The New London Bus Garage reported a black SUV did not stop when the school bus was stopped and the stop sign arm was extended and the lights were flashing. They have a video of the driver.
  • Feb. 28 – An unknown person reported a case of child abuse.
  • Feb. 28 – A male caller reported horrible conditions at a dog-breeding facility and requested an officer to respond.
  • Feb. 28 – An Ogdensburg woman on County Trunk OO reported two suspicious vehicles in the area: a blue Chevy Caprice with no plates and an older black four-door Chrysler.
  • Feb. 28 – A New London caller on County Trunk T reported a vehicle pulled into her driveway two nights ago. Now she was missing her shamrock.
  • Feb. 28 – The Wisconsin Veterans Home reported a resident was missing some money.
  • Feb. 28 – Rawhide Youth Services reported a student struck a staff member.
  • Feb. 28 – A Clintonville man on Kirchner Road reported parts of his fence were torn down.
  • Feb. 28 – A Wautoma man on South Scott Street reported probation violations and that “a lot of men are going to be attacking him with weapons.”
    •Feb. 28 – The Portage County Sheriff’s Office requested help locating a missing man.
  • Feb. 29 – A Clintonville caller on Clinton Avenue reported the sound of gunfire, heard neighbors yelling and watched two people run away.
  • Feb. 29 – An Ogdensburg caller on County Trunk E reported a person trespassing on his property.
  • March 1 – Eastside Mobil Express in Waupaca reported a suspicious situation that might be a drug deal.
  • March 1 – A Waupaca caller on Granite Street reported her boyfriend had a knife and was threatening to kill himself.
  • March 1 – A New London woman on County Trunk W reported a suspicious man standing in the middle of the road.
  • March 1 – A Clintonville caller on Buckbee Road reported a suspicious gray Ford F150 sitting in a driveway with its lights on. It looked like a homeless person was living in it.
  • March 1 – A Waupaca caller on Murray Lane reported someone struck her mailbox and dumpster.
  • March 2 – A Manawa man on Swan Road reported the death of a 70-year-old man.
  • March 2 – A Weyauwega woman on Alfreds Road reported an out-of-control bonfire that was spreading towards the woods.
  • March 2- An unknown caller reported seeing a person being thrown into a black Dodge Caravan. The driver was a male with an orange beard. The van was last seen on County Trunk O.
  • March 2 – Rawhide Youth Services reported a juvenile runaway. On a second call, they reported the youth was now smacking vehicles with a big stick.
  • March 2 – Dollar General in Embarrass reported a woman was in the parking lot and not leaving.
  • March 2 – A Waupaca woman on Berlin Street reported a loud screaming argument between a man and a woman was coming from an address where children lived.
  • March 3 – A Clintonville man on Rustic Road requested extra patrol for a funeral in Embarrass. He was concerned an estranged son might attend and cause a ruckus.
  • March 3 – A New London caller on County Trunk T reported the death of a 75-year-old man.
  • March 3 – A new London caller on State Highway 54 reported the theft of a Husqvarna riding lawnmower.
  • March 3 – An Iola woman on County Trunk G reported a juvenile female runaway who lied about where she was going.
  • March 3 – Aspirus Clinic in Waupaca reported a phone call where a male patient was belligerent to staff and said he would be “better off dead.”
  • March 3 – A 911 caller reported a rollover. The 18-year-old victim was bleeding, having trouble breathing and later died.
  • March 3 – A female caller reported that a man who was not supposed to be around her was outside. He had been threatening to kill her. He took off in a silver PT Cruiser down Bean City Road.
  • There were few deer-auto collisions during this period. Seven controlled burns were called in. A Weyauwega woman reported a goat was struck by a vehicle on Hatton Road. The goat survived. A Weyauwega man struck a pig in the road. The pig was injured. A woman reported her own cat bit her. ThedaCare Waupaca reported a man was bitten by a dog and it required stitches. A Pine River man reported two brown-and-white cows lying by the side of the road.
