Johnson, Janice Carole

Janice Carole Johnson, age 83, of Waupaca, Wisconsin went to her eternal rest with her Savior on Monday, March 4, 2024, in Waupaca.

Janice was born August 4, 1940, in Mayville, North Dakota to Dale and Ione (Ulland) Hohl. She graduated from Mayville High School and went on to x-ray school in Milwaukee where she met her husband. On June 30, 1962, Janice married Robert H. Johnson of Kingsford, Michigan at Hope Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. They moved to Waupaca in 1971 where they raised four wonderful children. Janice retired in 1999 after 23 ½ years as a staff radiographer at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca.

Janice was always busy and involved with numerous projects. She was active in her church serving as an Elder for some years, singer in the Cantata’s, worked on Banners and Altar Guild, and organized the Helping Hands ministry. She volunteered in many areas such as hospice, leading bible studies and assisting in hurricane relief. She loved to read, play golf, knit, garden, canning, and baking breads and cookies for friends and neighbors. She especially loved her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years Robert, four children: Ross and Kim (Aden) Johnson (Edinburgh, IN), Randy Johnson (Waupaca), Jill (Johnson) and Joseph Kubik (Chicago, IL), Robert D. and Angelica (Wangelin) Johnson. Grandchildren; Samantha, Nikolas and Anthony Kubik; Grace Peterson, August and Ezra Johnson. A brother, Michael and Cindy Hohl (Surprise AZ), nephew Erich and Rebecca Hohl (Lincoln NE) and niece Laura (Hohl) and Ryan Wellman (Columbus, NE) and their families; an aunt Ruth (Hohl) Flaten (Mayville, ND); a sister-in-law Sandra (Tom) Boucher and numerous cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Ione Hohl and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm followed by a service and luncheon at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca, WI with Pastor Andy Behrendt officiating. Final resting place of cremains will be at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, you are asked to do an act of kindness to someone in need in memory and honor of Janice. Monetary donations to local hospice and cancer research.
