Myers Sr. William Marshall

William Marshall Myers Sr., age 83, of Iola, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2024

after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s, at Theda Care in Appleton.

He was born on September 14, 1940, in the Town of Wyoming, Waupaca County, son of the late Lee and Jeanette (Thoe) Myers. Bill graduated from Iola High School in 1958. On August 12, 1961, he was united in marriage to Jean Leiskau in Bowler, WI. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. After coming back from the service, he started working at Iola Plumbing & Heating for a few years and then finished his career as a Supervisor at the Waupaca Foundry, retiring in 2001. After retiring, he enjoyed bow hunting, and fishing for Trout and Walleye. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their events.

He is survived by his children: Deb (Loren) Johnson, Darla (John) Williams, Bill (Angie) Myers; grandchildren: Logan (Megan) Johnson, Billy and Burkley Myers; great granddaughter Hazel Johnson; special friend Mary Jane Bennett; eight surviving siblings; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife Jean and one brother.

A funeral service for Bill will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Iola with Rev. Dale Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A visitation for Bill will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church or Scandinavia Lutheran Church.
