Waupaca schools placed on lockdown

Police find threat not credible

Waupaca schools went into lockdown while police investigated a threatening email sent to Waupaca Christian Academy on Wednesday afternoon, April 10.

An academy staff member reported the threatening email to Waupaca police.

Investigators learned that a similar threat had been reported in another Wisconsin school district the same day.

While police were investigating the threat, they placed schools within the district on lockdown.

Police determined that the threat was not credible.

The Waupaca Police Department encourages students and parents to come forward immediately anytime they hear of a potential threat so proper action can be taken.
