Mosquito Hill open

Nature center closed, but hiking trails open

By Greg Seubert

Mosquito Hill Nature Center may be closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but its hiking trails remain open.

Visitors to the center, located two miles east of New London off of County Trunk S at N3880 Rogers Road, will find its interpretive building and Playscape closed until further notice.

The trail system includes three miles of developed trails with access to scenic views from one of the area’s highest points.

The All People’s Trail is an 0.6 mile one-way paved trail with wheelchair access. Pets are not allowed on the trail system.

Anyone using the trails are asked to maintain a six-foot distance between individuals and keep group sizes to five people or fewer.

The trails are open from sunrise to sunset.

The center’s public programs and meetings have been canceled through the end of April.

Programs and field trips scheduled for May are still on the calendar, but may be canceled as well.

Updates can be found on the center’s Facebook page and at www.mosquitohill.com.
