State 76 project has website

DOT seeks public input on design

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region announced a design project website is now available to view proposed improvements on State Highway 76 in Outagamie and Waupaca counties.

The public is invited to review the proposed project’s scope, schedule and traffic impacts at wisconsindot.gov and open Projects and Studies in the top navigation bar.

The proposed project extends from State Highway 54 in the village of Shiocton to the U.S. Highway 45, State 76 and State 22 intersection west of the village of Bear Creek.

Work includes roadway resurfacing, safety improvements at intersections, culvert replacements and converting small bridges to box culverts.

Traffic impacts include full closures, lane closures and flagging operations.

The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2024.

The website includes design displays, a public handout and options to provide comment, including a downloadable public comment form with a pre-paid mailer.

Project comments can also be submitted via email or by calling project contacts on the website.

No in-person public meeting will be held for this project at this time due to the current health emergency and to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
