Peissig, Nancy A. Eich

Nancy A. Eich Peissig, age 78, of Stevens Point, WI, formerly of Waupaca, WI, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, July 12, 2021 at Ascension Saint Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point.

She was born in Rosiere, WI on January 22, 1943, a daughter of the late Harvey and Grace (LeGrave) LeMense. “She was our touchstone and our grounding force guiding us.” Nancy earned her Bachelor’s Degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, where she met her first husband Joseph Eich. They were married on December 26, 1964. He preceded her in death on January 5, 1989. She then married Dennis Peissig on August 22, 1999. Nancy’s love language was doing acts of kindness and service to others. She never said no when asked to do a sewing project or knit a pair of slippers. She was also an accomplished quilter. Nancy always generously shared her gifts and talents with others, from sewing hundreds of face masks for Head Start students to hemming a neighbor’s pants. She loved those around her unconditionally and with fierce loyalty through her listening ears and her supportive words. She saw the world through unselfish eyes and had an overwhelming passion for the human race. Nancy just knew how good we can all be. As grandma, Nancy played her greatest role as the biggest supporter of her four grandchildren. They were her pride and joy, she loved watching their school activities and spending time hearing about their lives.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis Peissig, Stevens Point, WI; children: Stephanie (special friend – Glen Hollatz) Eich; Rachel Gullixon; Sarah (Cary) Ogden; grandchildren: Joe (Nina Diorio) Ogden; Caroline Ogden; Sophia Gullixon; Ella Gullixon; stepson, Andy Peissig; brother, Neale LeMense; sister-in-law, Susan Stone; special friends: Sue and Jack Brueckner; Judy and Jim Hollnbacher; Jo Carlson; Martha and Jim Schuh. Nancy is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband – Joseph Eich, infant son – Jason Eich, sister – Nita LeMense, sister-in-law – Arlene LeMense and brother-in-law – Jon Stone.

The Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca at 12:00 (noon) on Saturday, July 17, 2021 with Father Xavier Santiago officiating. Interment of cremains will be at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery in Waupaca. Memorial visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Green Circle Endowment Fund in Stevens Point. Nancy loved using this hiking and biking trail.

The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
