In her early days, she worked for some years in the dentist office for Dr. Harold Laatsch and then with Dr. Charles Laux, both of Clintonville. Kathy found her niche when she started as a reporter and photographer with the Clintonville Tribune-Gazette. She enjoyed going to sporting events and gathering photos and information for a number of years. Kathy went on to the Marion Advertiser and continued covering local events, publishing articles, and even had her own sports column called “All in the Game”. She was always on the sidelines of the Marion or Tigerton high school games with her camera around her neck with her pen and notepad in her hands. She enjoyed meeting folks and sharing her photos for close to 15 years, retiring in 2014. She was also proud to put together another book for Caroline history titled “The Best Mill by a Dam Site”. Another passion of Kathy’s was working as a Caroline Aces 4-H Leader for many years. She liked helping kids learn and shape their picture taking skills and other crafts and projects the kids would take. Over the years, Kathy passed on her love of photography on to her son, grandchildren, nieces and nephews as well. She was an active supporter of the Caroline Community Development Corporation. Kathy and Dave volunteered their time and efforts to advance all aspects of Caroline. She liked all animals, especially horses. She enjoyed drawing and painting pictures of horses. She always had a soft spot in her heart for cats, most recently Nala and Simba. She even taught Simba to play fetch. Kathy loved spending time with her family and will be remembered most as devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother and great-grandmother.
