Comets beat Falcons, Panthers

Waupaca heading to Little Chute

The Waupaca boys’ basketball team picked up recent wins over Amherst and Oconto Falls.

The Comets handed Amherst a 72-52 defeat Feb. 12 and topped Oconto Falls 79-58 Feb. 10 in a matchup of North Eastern Conference teams.

Waupaca 72, Amherst 52

The Comets outscored the Falcons 29-18 in the first half and 43-34 in the second half.

Bryce Boldt and Evan Bogard led Waupaca with 24 and 21 points, respectively, while Tyler Soulsby led Amherst with 19.

Waupaca 79, Oconto Falls 58

The Comets took a 40-20 halftime lead and outscored the Panthers 39-38 in the second half.

Bogard led all scorers with 21 points, while Boldt added 20 and Paul Christian scored 10.
Braden Vandermoss led Oconto Falls with 12 points.

The Comets hosted Clintonville Feb. 15 and will travel to Little Chute Friday, Feb. 18, for a 7 p.m. North Eastern game with the Mustangs.
