Truckers, Panthers split doubleheader

Clintonville and Oconto Falls were looking to move up in the North Eastern Conference baseball standings as both teams met for a doubleheader April 29 in Clintonville.
It didn’t happen, as each team won a game.
Braden Vandermoss’ two-run double in the top of the eighth inning snapped a 3-3 tie and gave the Panthers a 5-3 win in the first game, while the Truckers picked up a 7-5 win in the second game.
Oconto Falls 5, Clintonville 3
The Panthers took a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the seventh inning, but the Truckers tied the game in the seventh, with two of the team’s three runs scoring on an error.
Cole Rosenow and Bryson Kautz had RBIs for the Truckers, while Andrew Lederer took the loss on the mound.
Clintonville 7, Oconto Falls 5
Rosenow gave the Truckers an early lead with an RBI double in the first inning.
Clintonville added to its lead with three runs in the fifth on RBI hits from Jordan Wegener and Kolton Barkow.
Jack Yaeger picked up the win in three innings of work, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out five and walking one. Wegener threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen and recorded the last six outs to earn the save.
