New London still unbeaten in Bay Conference

When it comes to high school softball, records and rankings can often be thrown out the window.
That turned out to be the case May 3 for the New London Bulldogs, as they ended up on the short end of an 11-0 score in a nonconference matchup with Denmark at Memorial Park.
Meanwhile, the Bulldogs also stayed unbeaten in the Bay Conference softball standings May 2 with a 10-6 win over Menasha. The win came less than a week after the Bulldogs handed the Bluejays a 7-5 loss in Menasha.
New London also picked up a 13-3 win over Coleman April 30 at the Pulaski Invitational.
Denmark 11, New London 0 (6 inn.)
The Bulldogs came into the game with a 10-1 record and a No. 3 ranking in Division 2 in the latest state poll.
However, the Vikings opened the game with a seven-run first inning and never looked back.
Denmark added four more runs in the sixth while keeping the Bulldogs scoreless.
New London 10, Menasha 6
New London improved to 6-0 in conference play after taking an 8-2 lead into the fourth inning.
Molly Kable, Sommer Krull and Maribel Glodowski led New London at the plate with two hits each. Krull, Autumn Winkelman and Eve Hedtke drove in two runs each.
Kenna Mix scattered seven hits over five innings to get the win on the mound, while Kendall Heise worked the final two innings to get the save.
New London 13, Coleman 3 (5 inn.)
A six-run third inning gave the Bulldogs all the offense they needed to knock off the Cougars.
Kable had two hits, drove in a pair of runs and scored three runs; Emma Reismann and Jensen Mix had two RBIs; and Reismann added a home run.
Winkelman allowed nine hits and two earned runs and struck out five batters to get the complete-game win.
The Bulldogs were also scheduled to face Pulaski, but that game was canceled due to the weather.
New London 7, Menasha 5
Reismann and Winkelman each hit two home runs for the Bulldogs April 29 in a win over the Bluejays.
Most of the runs came late in the game, as New London led 3-1 heading into the sixth inning.
The Bulldogs scored twice in the sixth and seventh before Menasha answered with three runs in the bottom of the seventh.
