Hogan, Barbara Jean

Barbara Jean Hogan, 75, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 26, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Green Bay.

She was born on January 31, 1947 to Russell J. and Lillian (Crane) LaRock. She graduated from Pulaski High School in 1965. After graduation, she moved to Milwaukee for a short time working in the banking field before returning to work in the family business at Furnitureland, Inc. On June 26, 1971, she married Thomas J. Hogan at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Pulaski. They lived and worked in Clintonville all of their married lives. While in Clintonville raising their son, Bill, Barb worked at Fraulein’s Clothing Store and then Erickson’s Drug Store where she met and made friends that would last a lifetime. After Tom’s passing in 2005, Barb moved to Green Bay and began working for Oneida Casino and retired from there in 2012. Barb enjoyed many aspects of life. For many years she enjoyed golfing, curling, and bowling with friends. She loved and closely followed the Green Bay Packers and sent Brett Favre and many other family and friends birthday cards every year. She loved to do crossword puzzles, enjoyed reading, coloring, playing cards, and watching her Hallmark movies. Barb loved getting together with people and being sociable, and she adored spending time with her grandchildren. She touched so many lives with her kindness and will be missed by many.

Barb is survived by her son William “Bill” and Melissa Hogan, Clintonville, and grandchildren, Connor and Macy. She is further survived by brothers, James (LaVerne) LaRock, Cecil; Ronald LaRock (Suzanne Gibson), Pulaski; sisters, MaryJane (James) Czachor, Green Bay; and Julie Rentmeester, Green Bay. Special godchildren: Jason Czachor, Miramar, FL; Dawn Wypiszynski, Neenah; Erin Reider, Little Chute; Russell LaRock, Green Bay; and Alyssa Dufrane, Howard, and many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Hogan; her mother and father, Russell and Lillian LaRock; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bernard and Gertrude (Dahm) Hogan; also brothers, Robert LaRock and 2 more in infancy.

A memorial service will be held for Barb on Wednesday September 7, 2022 at 3pm at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory in Clintonville with Fr. Timothy Shillcox O. Praem officiating. A visitation will follow the funeral service at the funeral home from 4-6pm Wednesday.
