Due to snow, the Waupaca Historical Society has rescheduled its program featuring Sara Timm from Waupaca Foundry to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 2, at the Holly history and Genealogy Center.

Timm will discuss “Building a Legacy: The History of Waupaca Foundry.”

Since 1871, generations of businessmen have been operating a foundry and machine shop on the banks of the Waupaca River.

With hard work, tenacity, some luck and more than a few bond offerings of wise support from the Waupaca Industrial Development Corp., Waupaca Foundry expanded its manufacturing footprint beyond the city of Waupaca to become 4,000 people strong.

How does the 100-year old Waupaca Foundry grow from its humble beginnings to become the largest and most respected iron foundry in the world?

Timm will answer this question and more during her presentation.

The program is fee and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

The Holly Center is located at 321 S. Main St., Waupaca.
