Richardson, Mary

Mary was born on September 3, 1948, in Neenah, WI. After graduation from Neenah High School, she was employed at Banta Publishing and worked her way up to being an AA bindery machine operator. Following an unexpected stroke and several surgeries, Mary retired to her home in Waupaca. Over the years she adjusted to a drastically different life style and eventually moved to the Veterans Home at King where she passed away on July 25, 2010. Mary had an adventurous spirit and keen sense of humor. She was a reader and soap watcher, a movie fan and solitaire expert. Her favorite vacation was horse camping and trail riding. Family cottage time on the Chain was an annual tradition for many years. Mary is survived by her son, Eric Hoernke, Myrtle Beach, SC; sister, Carol Zook (Al Wickham), Waupaca; brother, Peter Westergard, Greenville and Paul Westergard (Angie), Tucson, AZ; plus extended family, friends from high school and work, and special caregivers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Richardson, and parents, Gordon and Joyce Westergard. A private memorial is planned. Mary’s family is extremely grateful for the loving care and support she received over the years from so many kind people – thank you. The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca assisted the family with arrangements.
