Waupaca High School senior Brad Navin signs his National Letter of Intent Monday, May 9, to play hockey at the University of Wisconsin.
Navin helped lead the Comets to a Great Northern Conference championship as a junior and led the state in scoring, but missed much of his senior season after injuring his knee during a game in Tomahawk.
Wisconsin, Ohio State and Bemidji State each offered Navin a scholarship. He will head to Madison later this year instead of a season of junior hockey.
“It came down to nothing beats playing for your home state,” Navin said. “I’ve grown up a Badger, so it’s pretty hard to not want to be a Badger.”
