Tank, Alice A.

Alice A. Tank, age 91, New London, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2013, at St. Joseph Residence, New London.

Alice was born on October 18, 1921, in the Town of Lebanon, daughter of the late John and Helene (Paap) Tank. In her younger years she was a homemaker, keeping up the house for her parents and siblings. Later she worked at Rugotska’s Bakery and the New London Hospital until her retirement. She was a wonderful cook and seamstress. She was a lifelong member at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London. Her faith was a very important part of her life. She was a member of the Ladies Aid and LWMS at Emanuel.

Alice is survived by three sisters-in-law: Joyce Tank, New London; Margery Tank, New London; and Doris Tank, Waupaca. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, her special friend Nancy Klug, her neighbor who helped her in many ways. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Harold, Vernon (Fritz), Carl, Allen “John” and Arthur Tank; three sisters: Esther Jacquot, Verna Gruetzmacher and Ruth Tank.

The Christian Funeral for Alice will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London with Rev. Marcus Schulz officiating. Burial will be in Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Lebanon. A visitation for Alice will be held directly at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London is serving the family. A special thank you goes out to the staff at St. Joseph Residence for their wonderful care and concern of Alice.
