Community Summerfest in Weyauwega

The fifth annual Community Summerfest will be held on Sunday, July 27, at Weyauwega Community Park.

The event will include food, music and games.

Community Summerfest will kick off at 10 a.m. that day with a polka Mass under the main tent, featuring the Ray Konkol Dance Band.

After the Mass, the band will continue to play until 1:30 p.m.

The pig roast dinner will begin at 11 a.m.

The cost is $10, and carry outs will be available.

The Country Pride 4-H Club will sell ice cream floats, the youth choir and Weyauwega-Fremont Lions Club will have a brat fry, and the Team Encounter Youth Group will sell burgers and chicken sandwiches.

There will also be a bake sale.

In addition, the Fun Park will open at 11 a.m. It will be located by the pool entrance.

Admission will be free, and it will feature three inflatables, water blasters, face painting, Dissy D Clown and a nine-hole miniature golf course.

The annual Bicycle Give-A-Way will be held in that same area.

A total of six children’s bikes will be given away, from 1-4 p.m.

From 1-4 p.m., a Community Blood Center blood drive will also be held in the park.

Other activities taking place throughout the afternoon will include Bingo, a charity softball tournament, chess, a horseshoe tournament, a silent auction and a raffle.

There will also be free swimming at Weyauwega’s swim lake.

In addition to the Ray Konkol Dance Band, there will be the music of the Danny Darren Country Show and a string quartet from the Waupaca Area Orchestra.

Danny Darren will play from 1:30-4:30 p.m. in the main tent, and the quartet will play from 1:30-4:30 p.m. in the park’s new pavilion.

Bidding for the silent auction will end at 4 p.m., with the raffle drawing set for 4:30 p.m.
