Chargers dominate second half

The Wittenberg-Birnamwood Chargers improved their conference record to 9-1 when they traveled to Iola-Scandinavia to take on the Thunderbirds.
The W-B girls’ basketball team defeated I-S 45-25 Friday, Feb. 5.
There was a balanced scoring effort in the first half of the game, which ended with the Chargers up 22-18.
Wittenberg-Birnamwood ran away with the game in the second half, outscoring the T-Birds 23—7.
Siri Zeinert led the scoring for the Chargers with 14, followed by Taylor Nier with 10 and Kirsten Clark with 7.
Leighten Fischer was the only T-Bird in double figures with 10 points, followed by Kaylin Ellioff, Kendall Johnson and Baleigh Fuhs with 4 each.
The T-Birds will host Stratford on Feb. 9 in a nonconference game.
