The Manawa School District has a new logo.
Bryant Cobarrubias, Logo Committee chairman, revealed the logo during the Monday, Sept. 18, meeting of the Manawa School Board.
“We are excited to reveal the updated Manawa logo,” Cobarrubias said. “The process allowed us to improve the quality of our logo and ensure it meets the professional standards that our students, staff and community deserve.”
Cobarrubias worked with committee members Dan Wolfgram, Michelle Pukita, Skylar Liebzeit, Shawn Buchholz and Mary Griffin to narrow down all the choices they were given.
“Our goal was to unify the School District of Manawa behind a single wolf icon,” he said. “We reviewed over 100 designs from over a dozen professionals. Included was Shawn Buchholz, a Little Wolf alum and professional graphic designer. She submitted excellent logos based on the iconic wolf head. Shawn also converted the wolf head from a line drawing into a professional vector art file.”
Based on community feedback, committee members then presented staff and students with four options as finalists.
“They overwhelmingly chose Shawn’s design featuring the wolf head that our community loves over the M,” Cobarrubias said. “We want to express to Shawn and the other committee members how grateful we are for their efforts.”
A new banner can be seen during halftime at Manawa’s homecoming game at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29.
