An undefeated Amherst Falcons team traveled to take on the Weyauwega-Fremont Warhawks in a conference rivalry game.
In the first quarter, Amherst took the lead with a five-yard touchdown run by quarterback Michael Glodowski that gave them a 7-0 lead.
The Warhawks responded on the ensuing drive with a 60-yard touchdown pass from Carter Birdyshaw to Broc Billington, making the score 7-6.
In the second quarter, on fourth down and 11, Glodowski found Sully Perkins for an 18-yard touchdown strike to put the Falcons up 14-6.
The Warhawks drove down to the Amherst one-yard line as running back Dawson Lind punched the ball in for a touchdown run. Birdyshaw tied the game with a successful two-point conversion to knot the score at 14-14.
Amherst would score just before the end of the first half to take a 20-14 lead into halftime.
The Falcons would go up 27-14 at the beginning of the fourth quarter, and the Warhawks closed the gap when an option pitch to Lind scored from five yards, making it 27-21.
The Warhawks recovered an onside kick with 2:30 left at the 50-yard line, but a fourth-down interception by Logan Hintz, which was his second pick of the night, sealed the win.
