Waupaca County Sheriff’s Report Sept. 20

• Sept. 14 – A caller requested a welfare check on a woman with alcohol problems that was having a panic attack.

• Sept. 14 – A 911 caller requested an ambulance for a youth with pneumonia that was having difficulty breathing.

• Sept. 14 – A caller reported a train car was blocking a railroad crossing for a long time. Canadian National was contacted to remove it.

• Sept. 14 –A woman reported a suspicious Kirby vacuum cleaner salesman was going door-to-door. He was driving a silver minivan.

• Sept. 14 – A woman reported that the night before, her intoxicated male neighbor came onto her property and yelled at her and her children.

• Sept. 14 – A gas leak was reported. The caller said it smelled like rotten eggs.

• Sept. 14 – An 87-year-old woman reported “ghost men” were in her doorway and they stayed long enough to make their presence known. She said she felt sick earlier and they may have put something in her drink.

• Sept. 15 – A man reported fraudulent activity with his checking account. A $2,000 check was written out in Nevada.

• Sept. 15 – A man reported he was receiving emails from a man in Illinois that was demanded he be paid money or he would sue the caller.

• Sept. 15 – A man reported his chickens were stolen.

• Sept. 15 – A man reported he had a problem with Spectrum employees going onto his property to do work without notifying him.

• Sept. 15 – Outagamie County Sherriff’s Department requested a check on a storage unit in the New London area. They thought a man might be living in his storage unit.

• Sept. 15 – A man reported he was being harassed by a real estate agent. The agent took photos of his house and sent the caller a check and a letter for him to sign to sell his house.

• Sept. 15 – A man requested an ambulance for a man that had passed out and was not making sense.

• Sept. 15 – A man reported two storage units were broken into the night before. He had some suspects.

• Sept. 15 – A man requested a welfare check on a girl walking down the road with two bags and a doll.

• Sept. 15 – A landlady reported she had a now lease-less tenant squatting in her house and refusing to leave.

• Sept 15 – A woman reported there was a man in her yard looking in her windows. He son went out and scared him off and then they found his hotel key and ID in their yard.

• Sept. 15 – A woman reported her ex-boyfriend sent a threatening text message saying all of her things were outside and her laptop and iPad were going into the trash.

• Sept. 16 – A caller requested extra patrol near the Red Mill because a young male on an e-bike was doing wheelies in traffic.

• Sept. 16 – A man reported his ex-lover showed up at his workplace and said, “if I can’t have you, nobody can” and then she sent him a photo of a handgun she purchased.

• Sept. 16 – A woman reported a break-in at a vacant house.

• Sept. 16 – Rawhide Youth Services reported a juvenile sprayed a fire extinguisher at other people.

• Sept. 17 – A man reported a person was trespassing on his property around 2 a.m. The vehicle on his property looked like a Ford Focus.

• Sept. 17 – Tigerton Lumber Company reported someone was trespassing on one of their logging trails.

• Sept. 17 – A woman reported her neighbor was harassing her.

• Sept. 17 – A man reported he captured an image via a trail camera of a man trespassing on his land and messing around with his trailer.

• Sept. 17 – The Department of Human Services reported they got off the phone with a man that said his head was “infiltrated with the devil.” The man was manic and delusional.

• Sept. 17 – A woman reported her ex and his father were threatening to kill her dog. The dog was barking in the background.

• Sept. 17 – A man reported a suspicious white cargo van with Alabama plates.

• Sept. 17 – A woman reported that her female friend told her that her boyfriend hit her multiple times and left a mark on her shoulder.

• Sept. 17 – A woman reported that her sister was having a mental breakdown and she hit their father.

• Sept. 18 – A man reported a vehicle left skid marks on the road, smashed his decorative post in his driveway and appeared to drive into a ditch and a cornfield.

• Sept. 18 – A man reported his ex is harassing him and following him around, often not making any sense.

• Sept. 18 –A woman reported multiple fraudulent charges on her credit card amounting to $466.

• Sept. 18 – Rawhide Youth Services reported a juvenile sprayed a fire extinguisher into a staffer’s face and the person was taken to the hospital.

• Sept. 18 – A man reported he got a call about his grandson getting into an auto accident. He made two money transactions via a mail carrier service for a total of $20,000.  Then his grandson gave him a call and he realized he’d been scammed.

• Sept. 18 – A man reported his dog went missing. He got a text message from a person saying they have his dog and they could meet at the high school and he could only get the dog back if he paid a $60 ransom.

• Sept. 19 – A woman reported there was a suspicious vehicle in front of her apartment building and when she sees the car, the male driver takes off. It’s the fourth time it has happened.

• Sept. 20 – A caller reported the death of a man that fell down the stairs.

• Sept. 20 – A woman reported she is upset because her boyfriend is letting another woman live with them.

• Sept. 20 – A man reported that a man wearing gray sweatpants and a ball cap driving a white Subaru was on his property and he took some items near his shop and took off.

• There were six deer-related calls during this period. Ten controlled burns were called in. Numerous trees were reported to be fallen into roadways. A man reported he was bitten by his own dog while driving. Another man reported going to the ER for a dog bite. A woman reported a man let his Black Labrador retriever off the leash and it attacked a goose. A woman reported an injured heron along the roadway. A mixed black Mastiff dog was brought to the sheriff’s office waiting to be claimed by an owner. A woman reported her neighbor’s dog defecated on her porch the night before. A woman reported getting bit by a feral cat in her horse barn.
