Hortonville gets Fox Valley Association victory

Posted

Hortonville Polar Bears looked to rebound from their two game losing streak in the Fox Valley Association on May 8, as they traveled to take on Oshkosh North.

The Polar Bears took the early lead as Derek Baumbach singled on a ground ball to drive in a run and make the score 1-0 in the second inning.

A sacrifice fly by Brock Wolter right field brought in a runner to make it a 2-0 lead for Hortonville and Gary Wuest singled on a ground ball to right field for a Polar Bears 3-0 at the end of the third inning.

Wolter drove in a run with a single in the fifth inning, and Wuest had a two RBI single to extend the Polar Bears lead to 6-0.

Xavier Enriquez drove in a run on a double and Elijah Yeager punctuated the inning with an RBI double of his own to punctuate the inning and further put the score out of reach at 8-0.

Oshkosh North scored two desperation runs, but could not sustain any offensive output as Hortonville won their 15th game of the season.
